Artificial Intelligence, Adaptability, and Workforce Reskilling

This report therefore contains two roadmaps, not one. The first is broad-based adaptation: millions of workers will need basic and applied skills to work with AI within their current jobs. The second is targeted reskilling: a smaller, but still significant, share will need to transition into new roles or occupations. Confusing the two leads to two symmetrical errors: treating task transformation as displacement, or realizing too late that adaptation was not enough.
